Groundbreaking ceremonies took place on November 21, 2006 with a check for $250,000 being presented to Kate Alpert, Eastham Historical Society president, by Eastham Town Administrator Sheila Vanderhoef. The funds represented a grant recommended by the Eastham Community Preservation Act Committee, and voted unanimously at Town Meeting on May 6, 2006.
